Sample Class

You can try some sample materials from the four levels currently available - just follow the links below. These will give you a good idea of what a Net Languages course is like.

Sample Units


pre-elementary
Sample from 'En marcha' where you learn words, numbers and how to give personal information.
elementary
Sample from 'Trucos de cocina' which looks at food and cooking tips.
lower intermediate
Sample from 'Viajeros de hoy' which looks at travel, holidays, etc.

intermediate
Sample from 'Perdido y encontrado' which looks at curious stories about losing and finding things.
upper intermediate
Sample from 'Universitarios' which looks at university life, studying, etc.

 

To do a full course you will need to register and get a username and password. Remember, you should only register for a course after you take the level test.


Unit Structure

Each General Spanish course has ten units, and each unit has 15 sections, making approximately 120-150 hours of study. In the sample class pages you can see a typical unit and try some of the exercises and activities.

start An introduction to the theme of the unit with fun activities, games and exercises.
   
reading The reading text is the basis of each unit. Read about the theme - think and comment.
   
vocabulary Increase your vocabulary in this section. Everything you need to talk and write about the theme.
   
grammar Improve your grammar in this section - exercises, games and activities.
   
listening Listen to a variety of speakers talking about the theme of the unit.
   
test Test your progress in the unit in this section. If you have any problems, your tutor will help you find a solution.
   
chat Use the Virtual School to talk to other students around the world, share your experiences and opinions...
   
tutorial 1 In the first tutorial you send your written work to your tutor for correction. This is done via email.
   
takeaway English Learn practical language skills for different situations - travel, hotels, socialising.
   
pronunciation Each level has a complete pronunciation course. Record yourself doing the exercises - send them to your tutor.
   
net search Find out more about the theme of the unit and share your news and opinions with other Net languages students.
   
tutorial 2 In the writing section you produce a longer piece of writing and send it to your tutor for correction.
   
speaking tutorial In the second tutorial you talk to your tutor by phone or over the Net and comment on your work and the unit.
   
review The review section gives you some revision activities to consolidate what you have learnt.
   
feedback In the feedback section you can tell us what you thought of the unit and help us to make our courses even better.
